The Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust was formed in 1991 and manages a portfolio which includes an acute hospital, 17 community hospitals and a wide range of community health and social care services.
The Trust currently provides a wide range of local, community, general and specialist services to the residents of North and Eastern Devon areas, a catchment population of 484,000 (2010 mid-year population estimate, Office of National Statistics).
The radiology service provides a comprehensive diagnostic radiology service 24/7. This consultant-led service allows for consistent GP, outpatient, in-patient and emergency department access to imaging requirements.
A directory of services includes CT scanning, MRI scanning, plain film imaging, Ultrasound and specialised diagnostic
services such as Barium and Fluoroscopy work.
There is also a DEXA provision as well as an interventional service for acute work.
